Transparent Life

Proverbs 5:21 (NIV)
"For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths."

The most tempting sins are those that no one sees or that is easily hidden. We think that no one knows, but our lives are transparent to the Lord. The Lord sees what you do when you are alone. He know the vile thoughts that you think to yourself. He can see all, and examines every thing that you decide to do. I know these temptations all too well.

He sees when you eat a whole pizza by yourself, lust after that actor or model, he sees what you decide to watch and what music you decide to listen to. There is nothing that we do that the Lord does not know about. We all may know someone who likes everything to seem perfect in public and want their reputation to be pristine. Yet when they are out of the view of public are hateful and mean. The reputation that they have with the Lord is not the same as that of what they have in this world.

There are sayings, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" and "When in Rome do as the Romans." I am here to tell you what happens in Vegas God still sees and when in Rome do as Paul did. We need to live consciously knowing that the Lord is watching. Our attitude, thoughts, and actions should be consistent with what the bible says. That is the standard by which God judges our actions. We may be able to hide and conceal our ways from those around us but, the Lord knows and will judge each one of us accordingly.

Challenge: Remain consistent with your actions in private and in public. Be conscious that God is watching and that our lives are transparent to him.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 (NIV)
