Forgive one another

Colossians 3:13 (NIV) “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Have you ever held a grudge? Has someone held a grudge against you? Maybe you avoid that person, or the sight of them makes you angry, or you treat them poorly. We live in a world that is full of sin and an ever growing population of imperfect humans. You are bound to “wrong”/offend someone, just as others are bound to offend you. Believe it or not this can and does happen in church as well. We are called here to bear one another, or in other words tolerate and endure one another. We are human, we are bound to get annoyed by others. There will be some people that we really like to be around, and others that we prefer to not be around. We are called here to be tolerant to those brothers or sisters in Christ that we may not enjoy being around. We are to show them love as we are taught in John 13:34. Then we are called to forg...

Anxiety Relief

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NIV) “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” There are times when it seems like everything is going wrong. Times where you feel like you are doing everything that you are supposed to do and yet you are only just barely treading water in this life. Cars break down, mowers break down, medical emergencies arise, something breaks on your house… Then there is work, deadlines, software transitions, waiting on others to get you something so you can do your job… Then there is family problems. All of these things in life can just wear you down and cause you anxiety. Jesus just wants us to cast all of our cares upon him. He wants us to pray to him, talk to him, and humbly come to him for help, for peace. God will provide for us with what we need in due time if we will just approach him with what is “wrong” in our lives. Sometimes he may tell you that you don’t n...

Liberty or Death

Here in the USA we are blessed with freedoms that citizens of some other countries do not have. We have the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to bear arms, and the freedom to elect our leaders. As we celebrate our country’s independence this week let us take time to be thankful for the freedoms that we enjoy in this country.   Pray to God that he would bless our country, be with our elected leaders, and that we as a country would turn to him as the supreme ruler in our lives.   Acts 13:39 (NIV) “Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.” Even though we are blessed with many freedoms here in the USA, our constitution does not provide us freedom from sin. As we look across our country we see uprisings of many sinful actions. The first year after Roe vs. Wade took affect conceptions rose by 30% in America yet births actually fell by 6%. One baby was aborted for every ...
