Acting Faith

James 2:14 "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?" (NIV)

Do you have faith? James is asking you "if you talk the talk but, do not walk the wak," are you for real or just a poser? I know many people, which I cannot judge their salvation, that claim to be Christian, yet by their actions you could never tell. There are others who think that you should just act differently on Sundays. Being a Christian is not just a label; it is not just identifying with a group's morals more than any others'; it accepting that Christ died on the cross for your sins and then being obedient to him.

Being a Christian is not just a "part time job." It is a way of life that we need to embrace. Taking that saying, "what would Jesus do?" literally and actively living it out. When we see another person who has a need, and we can fill that need for them, we are to in faith fill that need and show the love of Christ to that person/s. When we see a brother or sister in Christ hurting, by faith we are to be there for them, praying with them, comforting them, and helping them however we can. Wherever we are if a door is opened to share the love of Christ, we are to act upon that.

Challenge: Examine your faith. Is your faith active or stagnant? Live out your faith.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 (NIV)
